Clinical Notes. Animal studies: may have anti-neoplastic activity, improve thyroid fxn, thymus, and adrenal glands w/o hypertrophy Has normalizing effects on endocrine and reproductive system Best not to take in evening as it can be stimulating

anticancer_preclinical. Extracts and salidroside show antimutagenic and antitumor activity in preclinical models, inhibiting the mTOR pathway and angiogenesis, though this remains largely experimental.

safety_profile. Generally well tolerated in trials, with only occasional mild effects such as irritability, insomnia, sleepiness, or cold extremities; human safety data during pregnancy and lactation are lacking.

adaptogen_stress_resistance. Acts as an adaptogen, raising the body's nonspecific resistance to physical, chemical, and psychological stressors and helping normalize function of the HPA axis under strain.
